In this special course, Matt Regitz and Jenn D’Angelo Lucovic share about what relational ministry looks like during unexpected events happen in your community. Matt shares about being on the receiving end after the loss of his child and Jenn shares her experiences during and after the school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida in 2018.

SESSION 1

Matt Regitz – The Loss of Mary Claire

Matt was the youth minister at the parish he grew up in when he and his family suffered the loss of their 2 year old, Mary Claire. Matt shares his story of being on the receiving end of ministry from his teens and his community, what that kind of relational ministry meant to him and that sometimes, the youth minister needs to be ministered to as well. 
SESSION 2

Parkland, FL School Shooting – Part 1

Jenn is a youth minister in Florida who’s parish serves 16 different high schools. One of those high schools is Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School, the site of the Parkland shooting in February 2018. In this first part of her story, she shares how having built trusting and loving relationships with her teens helped her be a rock for them as they experienced an unthinkable tragedy in their community. 
SESSION 3

Parkland, FL Shooting – Part 2

Jenn continues with her story about the aftermath of this event in her community and offers tips and suggestions on how to listen and respond during any kind of unexpected event that affects the lives of the teens.
